Jamiason-Tyre Needlebeam - Raku Fired Ceramic Sculpture
Raku Rayguns are one-of-a-kind ceramic sculptures made by West Magoon. They are inspired by alien technology unearthed at a secret UFO crash site, known only to a tribe of Wyoming Hill People. Each raygun is named after a science fiction author, character or device.
This raygun features an unusual chartreuse glaze, with a gorgeous iridescent sheen, like an oil-on-water effect. The scope houses a large cobalt blue marble. This raygun also incorporates other glass parts and tiny lights hidden behind the glass that slowly pulse, like a long-dead intelligence, trying to jolt back to life. The last photo demonstrates the changing colors of the lights.
The Raku Rayguns are sized for the human hand. This one measures about 17" long by 11" tall. Each Raku Raygun comes with a ceramic moon crater plaque wall mount. The raygun rests on brass hooks embedded in the plaque which provide a sturdy support. The plaque has an attached wire on the back, for hanging on the wall. The cord of the led lights inside the raygun emerges from the back side of the gun and plugs into a wall socket. A remote control is provided, to turn the lights on and off and to choose different colors and/or effects.
The visual roots that inspire these sculptures include sci-fi magazine covers from the 30's,40's and 50's, the styling cues from 50's automobiles, and design elements from Art Deco and Art Nouveau which contribute to the Steampunk flavor of the Raku Rayguns.
When shipping, we very carefully wrap each raygun in yards of bubble wrap and double-box them.
